Course description

According to the decision of PeopleCert and AXELOS, from November 1, 2019, accredited trainings are sold only with an exam.

5-day ‘Bridge’ type training from ITIL 3 to ITIL 4. Designed for ITIL Expert certificate holders or people who have obtained at least 17 credits from ITIL 3 training, wishing to update their knowledge about modern management of digital services and obtain the prestigious designation of ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP).

The course presents a detailed picture of the ITIL 4 service management model and discusses the differences between ITIL 3 and 4 versions. This is the only course that allows the transition from ITIL 3 to ITIL 4.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand how the ITIL guiding principles can help an organization adopt and adapt service management
  • Understand the four dimensions of service management
  • Understand the purpose and components of the ITIL service value system
  • Understand the activities of the service value chain, and how they interconnect
  • Understand how to plan and build a service value stream to create, deliver, and support services
  • Know how relevant ITIL practices contribute to the creation, delivery and support across the SVS and Value streams
  • Understand concepts regarding the high-velocity nature of the digital enterprise, including the demand it places on IT
  • Understand the digital product lifecycle in terms of the ITIL ‘operating model’
  • Understand the importance of the ITIL Guiding Principles and other fundamental concepts for delivering high velocity IT Understand how customer journeys are designed
  • Know how to foster stakeholder relationships
  • Know how to shape demand and define service offerings
  • Know how to onboard and offboard customers and users
  • Know how to act together to ensure continual value co-creation (service consumption / provisioning)
  • Know how to realise and validate service value
  • Understand the scope and activities relevant to Direct and plan
  • Understand the role of GRC and how to integrate the principles and methods into the service value system
  • Understand and know how to use the key principles and methods of Organizational Change Management to direction, planning and improvement.

Target audience:

  • This course is a management level course intended ONLY for individuals who have obtained their ITIL Expert designation, or have achieved 17 ITIL v3 credits. ITIL 4 Foundation certification is NOT required.
  • You also qualify if you have obtained 15 ITIL v3 credits and passed the ITIL 4 Foundation exam.

Training program

  • Presentation of a full picture of modern digital service management in accordance with the ITIL 4 model
  • A review of the main differences between ITIL v3’s five-stage lifecycle IT service management model and its 26 processes and functions, compared to ITIL 4’s service value system model and its 34 practices
  • A review of the SVS model and its components: the service value chain, seven guiding principles, four business dimensions, governance, continual improvement, and a review of ITIL 4’s 34 practices, which are grouped into three operational streams (general management, service management, and technical management)
  • Key concepts and teachings from the three ITIL 4 advanced IT Specialist courses: Create, Deliver & Support (CDS); Drive Stakeholder Value (DSV); High Velocity IT (HVIT)
  • Key concepts and teachings from the ITIL Strategist advanced book and course – Direct, Plan & Improve (DPI)
  • Preparation for the ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition exam, including discussion of mock exams
  • ITIL 4 Managing Professional Transition certification exam.

  • Prerequisites: ITIL Expert certification, OR minimum 17 ITIL v3 credits without ITIL 4 Foundation certification, OR 15 ITIL v3 credits with ITIL 4 Foundation exam
  • Accreditation: Accreditation granted to Asseco Data Systems by PeopleCert on behalf of AXELOS
  • Exam is included in price.

Additional information regarding participation in the Virtual class:

  • Each participant should register for the training session between 08:30-08:50
  • The training is conducted between 09:00 am and 3:30 pm
  • During the training day there will be several breaks, including one 1-hour lunch break and 10-minutes coffee breaks after each hour of training.
  • Study guide and other training materials are distributed in a digital version.
  • Exams are carried out in the form of vouchers.
